🌿 OUR STORY

Craftsmanship with intention. Design with soul.

Bohonito is the creative universe of Ivahn de Bohonito (Iván Aguado), a bag and accessory designer and pattern maker with a proven track record in renowned national and international brands. After years in the fashion industry, he decided to embark on a more personal, artisanal, and conscious journey.

During a chapter living in Camden Town—surrounded by alternative culture, creative markets, and free expression—a new way of understanding design began to take shape: less trend, more identity.

In 2011, Ivahn started traveling through artisan markets along the Mediterranean coast, selling his first handmade pieces and connecting directly with people who valued authenticity, craftsmanship, and objects with character. Following the warm reception of those early creations, Bohonito was officially born in 2012.

Since then, every bag, belt bag, and accessory is designed and handcrafted in a small workshop in Elda—a historic city famous for footwear and leather goods—using natural leather, traditional techniques, and a limited production focused on quality, detail, and respect for the process.

The name Bohonito comes from blending "Boho" and "Bonito" (beautiful), reflecting a way of understanding design tied to a free spirit, natural beauty, and authenticity. But over time, Bohonito has become more than just a name: it represents a philosophy of creation based on intention, craftsmanship, and an emotional connection with each piece.

We are inspired by the Mediterranean, the hippie Ibiza of the 70s, travels, festivals, music, world cultures, symbolism, and all those encounters and experiences that leave a mark and build identity.

Over the years, Bohonito has grown organically, always maintaining its closeness and care for every single detail. In 2020, Majo (María José) joined the project, initially collaborating in production while continuing to develop her professional career within the footwear industry. Thanks to her experience, aesthetic sensibility, and organizational vision, her role grew naturally within the brand.

As of 2026, Majo has fully integrated into Bohonito, consolidating a small team united not only by the creative project but also by a shared life journey. Here, design, artisanal production, communication, and customer care coexist under the same philosophy of conscious and close-knit work. Currently, she actively participates in design processes, production, quality control, social media management, the online store, and logistics—bringing balance, sensitivity, and continuity to the Bohonito universe.

Over time, Bohonito has also found its place in festivals, conscious gatherings, and cultural events where music, art, community, and creativity naturally coexist. We continue to tour various national and international events, from major festivals like Boom Festival or Rototom Sunsplash to small independent markets and gatherings linked to the artisan movement, alternative culture, and a conscious lifestyle.

Beyond being a commercial space, we view these venues as meeting points to share experiences, inspiration, and human connection.

We do not believe in fast fashion or mass production.

We are part of the Slow Fashion movement, and we are committed to creating handmade, signature accessories designed for people who look to express themselves through authenticity and value the unique over the mainstream.

More than accessories, we create pieces that accompany you on your journey.
